With Backyard Harvest, a nifty program sponsored by the Permaculture Research Institute Cold Climate, you can hire a farmer to create a veggie garden in your backyard. They plant, weed, and harvest for you. It sounds like they also work to coordinate neighborhood gardens to create a food sharing program.

A great idea for those of us who like the produce but not the work! The program is holding a fundraising/information event at Merlin’s Rest tonight from 6:30 to 8:30.

On a related note, I’ve discovered another local blog – Penelopedia – dedicated to Nature and Gardening in Northfield, MN.
